DON'T BOTHER ME By MODARTIST For George

MUZIK4 ☊s  ONLY! If you don't use HEADPHONES, forget it!

In Martin Scorsese's landmark film, George claims to have been sick in bed, and so wrote this as a way of passing the time, and didn't really wish to be bothered while fighting the flu. George was every bit the song stylist as Lennon and McCartney; in fact, when I was growing up, and first heard this song, it shattered me with its weird chords and strange melancholy, bordering on the morose. The jackpot for me is the amazing intro, in D major, which could have evolved into a whole other song in itself, but then we go from G major and slip on down, after each line of lyric, from F major into E minor. It's that F that creates the landscape these young lads were able to conjure with seeming ease of thought. The same maneuver is used in ALL I'VE GOT TO DO (also a tribute on my channel). The expected (and it CAN be played that way) G to F# to E is done using the F in place of the F#. It creates a cadence that can only be ascribed to the LIverpool groove; a true invention. It haunts me to this day. I've attempted to be faithful to the song's chords, but have, as usual, come up with my own "EpiGothic" arrangement. Never the less, it's George and his mates I'm channeling, and that very feeling that came over me when I was but two years old, and heard the album my parents were playing, MEET THE BEATLES. This is my favorite song on the disc, and it makes me long for the golden days, when George was young, and a modern-day marx Brother; when they were all new, and shiny, and healthy, and ready to change the way people heard, danced, and admired what musicians could do to your head and heart. George was a bona fide genius, and his musical creations will influence me for the rest of my life. This is made in his honor. What is "Life?" This is life....E
